First Week of School:1, Stacey:0

Let's just say it's been a challenging week. And challenging is just a positive and professional way for saying: overwhelming/frustrating/crazy/out of control/hair pulling/make me want to run screaming...I COMPLETELY underestimated the magnitude of The First Week of School (TFWOS). Yes, it deserves its own acronym.

That being said, I met some of the most amazing students this week. They are funny, and smart, and adorable, and inspiring. And for the amount of stress and frustration I faced this week with TFWOS, many of my students experience frustration to that degree and more with many of the most simple things we take for granted in our days.

Can someone please remind me this during TSWOS?

It's going to be a great year, Mrs. Chambers...

I like to think I can play it cool, (no comments from the peanut gallery!) but my first day of school giddiness took over.

Me: Hi! I'm Mrs. Chambers, and I am going to be your teacher this year! We are going to have sooo much fun this year and learn sooo much! I am soooooo excited!
3rd Grader: I can tell! (And with a kind, supportive pat on my shoulder...) It's going to be a great year, Mrs. Chambers!

Well, I guess my inner-nerd was bound to shine through eventually.

And thus, my adventure begins...
