9 months

In the blink of an eye, my infant is now a TODDLER.  9 months and on the move.  She's got a mind of her own, this one!  What a funny, smart, determined little girl she is!
Mom, you're funny...you want me to lay there on that blanket for you? Do you know me?
How about I just come over here and play with my doll, will that do?

I like this doll, I think I will take her with me.
Ok, Ok, I will lay here just for a minute while I laugh at your funny faces....

Wait a MINUTE!  What is this here on my shirt?!?

It tastes good...

Real good.

I believe I need to remove it immediately.

Got it.  Uh, oh.....Mommy saw me!

Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!  Must have it back!!!!!!!!

Just a day in the life. :)

LIKES: Putting little balls in her dinosaur toy, feeding herself "Puffs," peek-a-boo, remote controls, opening up cabinets, her furry "brothers" Buddy and Max (they are constant laughs), standing and cruising all day long, books books books!, splashing in the bath, clapping, taking a few steps alone, and smiling with her TWO adorable new little teeth!

DISLIKES: diaper changes (staying still is for woosies!), being put down in her crib to sleep (sleeping is for losers!), being strapped into her high chair (are you seeing a trend here? :) ), riding in the car (praise Jesus for Yo Gabba Gabba videos on the iPad, man oh man.), having a "toy" taken away from her (what, I can't eat this piece of paper or throw your cell phone on the ground?)

Naps:  2 naps a day (around 9 and 1)

Night time:  6:30 ish bedtime, 5:30 ish wake up.  We had  a few rough nights there the week before she turned 9 months...Once the doctor told us to let her cry it out, we did....we had one REALLY sad night, but she has slept straight through for the past 3 nights.  Whew!  Worth it.

Eating:  She eats solids 3 times a day, nurses morning and night, and takes a bottle 2 times.  We started supplementing a little formula since I couldn't seem to keep up....not sure that's going over so well.  Hmm....

Well, I hear little shouts coming from someone's crib....off for a snuggle.

Easter Recap

One of the best things about being a new parent is every time you turn around you are experiencing a "First."  And it's, like, such a big freakin' deal.  I never thought I'd be that corny parent who thought so, either!  Alas, this month we celebrated Abby's first Easter, her first petting zoo, and her first visit to the real zoo, among many other things...

This year, I helped plan my work's "Beeping Egg Hunt" for the all the young blind kiddos in the district.  We go all out with crafts, music, petting zoo, etc.  Abby got to come, and it was really fun!

Here's Abby with the animals:

"Eeek!"
She got really pumped to see the chick, to which I said, "Quack, Quack!" I would be wrong.

Not so sure about you!

"Mom, can we keep him?"

I am STILL laughing about Abby's picture with this authentic-looking Easter bunny at the event.  My district keeps it classy, ok?  I seriously think this guy is right off the set of "Bad Santa's" sequel "Bad Bunny."  Like I said, classy.

For Easter weekend, we celebrated in with Jared's family in Abilene.  We had the blessing of sharing in Austin's baptism, which was really special.   We also took Abby to the zoo, which she loved!

Flamingos were her fave.

In every picture, sweet "Lita" is looking at Abby.  She LOVES that girl.

Love my fam.

Checking out the turtles!

Gramma (My mom) made Abby an adorable Easter basket.  Abby loved finding her treasures from the Easter Bunny.

Adorable bunny bib, complements of Aunty Liz of "Bizzy Baby"
"Look, Mom!  The same little leggings you had in the cart at Target the other day!"

Easter morning was a little chaotic, and Abby didn't last very long during the service at church.  But we looked cute, right?   I'm pretty sure Jesus understands. :)

I love this one because this is our life....Abby is always on the go!

Right before she crapped her pants.

Back in Dallas, unpacking after the long weekend....I turned around to find THIS:

Smiley girl.
